Oversee and manage the visual presentation of the store to ensure it meets company standards and drives sales.
Implement merchandising strategies to effectively showcase products and attract customers.
Monitor inventory levels and work with the Store Manager to make necessary adjustments to meet customer demand.
Train and develop team members on proper merchandising techniques and standards.
Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and execute sales initiatives and promotions.
Conduct regular store walk-throughs to identify areas for improvement and address any issues promptly.
Ensure all merchandise is priced accurately and displayed according to company guidelines.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor strategies to make informed merchandising decisions.
Assist with the hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to share merchandising updates, goals, and expectations.
Maintain a clean and organized store environment to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
Assist with daily operations and customer service as needed.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure team members do the same.
Serve as a role model for exceptional customer service and professionalism.
Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and achieve sales and profitability goals.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Job Qualifications

Experience In Retail Merchandising: A Successful Candidate For The Assistant Store Manager - Merchandising Role At Big Lots Should Have Previous Experience In Retail Merchandising, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Leadership Position. This Will Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Visual Merchandising Principles And The Ability To Effectively Manage Inventory And Product Placement.
