Asset Protection Officer

Big Lots is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Asset Protection Officer. This role requires an individual with strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. The Asset Protection Officer will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of our store and its customers.The ideal candidate for this position should have a high school diploma or equivalent, retail experience, and a valid security license. Additionally, the successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities of an Asset Protection Officer:

• Monitor the store for any suspicious activity or security risks
• Investigate any suspicious activity or incidents that occur
• Implement and maintain effective security and safety procedures
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints
• Report any security issues or violations to the store manager
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant laws and regulations
• Maintain records of security incidents and customer service transactions
• Establish and maintain positive customer relations
• Assist in training and supervising new staff members
• Ensure the store is clean and organized
• Carry out regular maintenance checks on store security equipment
• Assist customers with product selection and checkout procedures.
