Asset Protection Officer

We’re searching for a passionate, customer-focused Asset Protection Officer to join the Big Lots team. This individual must be a natural leader, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to ensure our stores maintain a safe and secure environment for our customers and employees. The successful candidate should have a proactive approach to their work, and be able to quickly adapt to any situation. Previous experience in a similar role and a degree in criminal justice are preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor store activity to ensure a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
2. Proactively identify potential security risks, safety hazards, and criminal activity.
3. Quickly and calmly respond to any suspicious activity.
4. Develop and implement strategies to reduce shrinkage and prevent theft.
5. Investigate any incidents that occur within the store.
6. Maintain records of surveillance footage.
7. Create and maintain relationships with local law enforcement.
8. Train store personnel on security protocols.
9. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
10. Assist in resolving customer service issues.
