Job Description

As an Asset Protection Officer at Big Lots, you will be responsible for protecting the store's assets and promoting a safe environment for all customers and employees. Your ability to identify and address potential risks and threats, as well as your knowledge of asset protection standards, will be essential to your success in this role. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact in our organization.To qualify for this position, you must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in a retail environment. Additionally, you must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work a flexible schedule. A valid driver's license and strong problem-solving skills are also required. Responsibilities:

Monitor store premises and activities to identify potential risks, threats, and safety issues, and take appropriate action to address them
Ensure compliance with asset protection standards and procedures
Monitor the customer service area and identify suspicious activity
Investigate losses and theft of store assets
Develop and implement plans to prevent loss and theft
Ensure the safety and security of customers and employees
Train and educate staff on asset protection and safety protocols
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints
Maintain accurate records of incident reports and investigations
Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with customers
Collaborate with other departments to ensure store operations run smoothly
Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed
