  1. Develop and implement the strategic direction and goals for Children in Need, in alignment with the organization's mission and values.
  2. Lead and manage a team of dedicated staff and volunteers to effectively carry out the organization's initiatives and meet its objectives.
  3. Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates on the organization's progress, financial status, and any potential risks or opportunities.
  4. Oversee the organization's budget and fundraising efforts to ensure financial stability and growth.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, and other organizations, to advance the organization's mission and goals.
  6. Serve as the public face of Children in Need, representing the organization at events, conferences, and in the media.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and teams within the BBC to leverage resources and support for Children in Need.
  8. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical standards within the organization.
  9. Monitor and evaluate the impact of the organization's programs and initiatives, and make necessary adjustments to improve effectiveness.
  10. Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in the charity sector, and use this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within Children in Need.
  11. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that encourages collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning.
  12. Serve as a mentor and coach to staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed in their roles.
  13. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to the operation of a charity organization.
  14. Cultivate a strong sense of passion, dedication, and commitment to the mission of Children in Need among all staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Demonstrated Leadership Experience: A Successful Candidate For The Chief Executive Officer Role At Bbc Children In Need Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Leading And Managing Teams, Preferably In The Non-Profit Sector. This Includes Experience In Setting Strategic Direction, Managing Budgets, And Achieving Organizational Goals.

  • Strong Understanding Of Children's Issues: As The Leader Of A Charity Focused On Helping Children In Need, The Ceo Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Challenges Faced By Children And Young People In The Uk. This Includes Knowledge Of Child Welfare, Education, Healthcare, And Other Relevant Areas.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: The Ceo Will Be Responsible For Representing Bbc Children In Need To External Stakeholders, Including Donors, Partners, And The Media. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills, Including Public Speaking And Media Relations, Are Essential For This Role.

  • Financial Acumen: Bbc Children In Need Is A Large And Complex Organization With An Annual Income Of Over £100 Million. The Ceo Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Financial Management, Including Budgeting, Forecasting, And Reporting, To Ensure The Charity's Sustainability And Effectiveness.

  • Passion For The Cause: Above All, The Ceo Of Bbc Children In Need Should Have A Genuine Passion For The Charity's Mission To Improve The Lives Of Children And Young People In The Uk. This Includes A Commitment To Diversity And Inclusion And A Desire To Make A Positive Impact On Society.
