At Barnes & Noble, we are looking for an enthusiastic Bookseller to join our team. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to customers, and our Booksellers play a vital role in making sure our customers have an enjoyable shopping experience. We are looking for someone with a passion for books and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.The successful candidate should have a friendly and professional demeanor, strong multitasking skills, and excellent communication and organizational skills. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can handle customer inquiries in a professional and responsive manner. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous retail experience is preferred but not necessary.If you are an energetic and passionate individual who shares our commitment to providing the best customer service and is looking for an opportunity to work in the exciting environment of a bookseller, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet customers and provide knowledgeable assistance with book selections.
  2. Receive, unpack and display books in an organized and attractive manner.
  3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of store layout and book selections.
  4. Ensure the store shelves are adequately stocked and organized.
  5. Assist with cash register functions and customer transactions.
  6. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  7. Assist with general store upkeep such as cleaning and restocking shelves.
  8. Help maintain a neat and organized work area.
  9. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current promotions and events.
  10. Assist with other tasks as requested by management.
