  1. Provide legal advice and guidance to the US fixed income derivatives business at Barclays.
  2. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Dodd-Frank regulations.
  3. Mitigate legal risks by reviewing and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  4. Stay up-to-date on all legal developments and changes in laws and regulations related to fixed income derivatives.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams, including traders, risk management, and compliance, to address legal issues and facilitate business initiatives.
  6. Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and provide recommendations.
  7. Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal agreements and contracts.
  8. Advise on legal implications of new product development and business strategies.
  9. Participate in meetings with regulators and external parties on behalf of Barclays.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  11. Provide training and support to other members of the legal team and the business on legal and regulatory matters.
  12. Communicate legal issues and risks to senior management and make recommendations for addressing them.
  13. Collaborate with other departments, such as risk management and compliance, to ensure a holistic approach to legal and regulatory compliance.
  14. Manage and prioritize a high volume of legal matters and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  15. Serve as a subject matter expert on US fixed income derivatives and provide guidance to other members of the legal team and the business.
  16. Represent Barclays in legal proceedings related to fixed income derivatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School With A Strong Academic Record.

  • Minimum Of 8-10 Years Of Experience Practicing Law, Preferably In The Area Of Fixed Income Derivatives.

  • Admitted To Practice Law In At Least One Us State And In Good Standing.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Fixed Income Derivatives.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Complex Legal Matters, Including Negotiating And Drafting Contracts And Providing Legal Advice To Senior Management.
