  1. Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures for the investment banking division.
  2. Monitor and assess potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments and report findings to senior management.
  4. Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure adherence to risk management policies.
  6. Evaluate and enhance existing risk management processes and controls.
  7. Train and educate staff on risk management best practices and policies.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in regulations to continually adapt risk management strategies.
  9. Communicate with external stakeholders, including clients and regulators, regarding risk management practices.
  10. Lead and manage a team of risk and control professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  11. Identify and escalate potential issues or concerns to senior management in a timely manner.
  12. Collaborate with the investment banking team to assess risk in new business opportunities.
  13. Analyze and report on risk metrics and key performance indicators to senior management.
  14. Ensure the investment banking division is in compliance with all internal and external risk management requirements.
  15. Drive a culture of risk awareness and control throughout the investment banking division.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience In Investment Banking Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 8-10 Years Of Experience In Risk Management Within An Investment Banking Environment, With A Strong Understanding Of The Industry's Regulatory Landscape And Best Practices.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Successful Risk & Control Manager Should Be Able To Analyze Complex Data And Identify Potential Risks And Control Gaps. They Should Also Be Able To Develop And Implement Effective Risk Mitigation Strategies.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Abilities: As A Vp, The Candidate Will Be Expected To Lead And Manage A Team Of Risk Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential To Effectively Guide And Motivate The Team.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Financial Products And Markets: The Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Various Financial Products, Including Derivatives, Equities, Fixed Income, And Commodities. They Should Also Have A Strong Grasp Of Market Trends And Dynamics.

  • Proven Track Record Of Regulatory Compliance: The Vp Should Have A Strong Track Record Of Ensuring Compliance With Relevant Regulations And Internal Policies. This Includes Experience In Conducting Risk Assessments, Audits, And Implementing Appropriate Remediation Measures.

Compensation
