  1. Serve as the subject matter expert on consumer credit law and regulations for the organization, providing guidance and advice to internal stakeholders.
  2. Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to consumer credit.
  3. Advise on the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures related to consumer credit.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and assess potential legal risks related to consumer credit products and services.
  5. Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and disclosures, to ensure accuracy and compliance with consumer credit laws.
  6. Represent the organization in legal proceedings related to consumer credit, such as litigation and regulatory inquiries.
  7. Monitor changes in consumer credit laws and regulations and provide updates and recommendations to the organization.
  8. Develop and deliver training and educational programs for internal stakeholders on consumer credit legal matters.
  9. Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other third-party providers.
  10. Participate in industry groups and forums to stay current on best practices and developments in consumer credit law.
  11. Maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions, adhering to the organization's code of conduct and ethical standards.
  12. Collaborate with the legal team to ensure consistency and alignment with overall legal strategy and objectives.
  13. Communicate complex legal concepts and advice in a clear and concise manner to non-legal stakeholders.
  14. Proactively identify areas for process improvement and efficiency within the legal department.
  15. Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and provide strategic legal advice on consumer credit matters.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree And Active License To Practice Law In At Least One State.

  • Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience Practicing Consumer Credit Law, Preferably At A Top Law Firm Or Financial Institution.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Federal And State Consumer Credit Laws And Regulations, Including The Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, And Truth In Lending Act.

  • Proven Track Record Of Managing And Leading A Team Of Lawyers And Providing Strategic Legal Advice And Guidance To Senior Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Build Relationships With External Stakeholders.
