In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a talented team of surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to patients undergoing open heart procedures.   1. Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during open heart procedures.
  2. Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies.
  3. Ensure all necessary equipment is in working condition before each procedure.
  4. Create and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
  5. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
  6. Assist with positioning and draping of patients.
  7. Monitor patient vital signs during procedures.
  8. Handle specimens and send them to the lab for analysis.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the surgical procedure.
  10. Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures.
  11. Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  12. Keep abreast of new surgical techniques and technologies.
  13. Provide support and assistance to patients and their families before and after surgery.
  14. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain knowledge and skills.
  15. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  17. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.
  18. Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families.
  19. Follow strict ethical and legal standards in the workplace.

Job Qualifications

  • Completion Of A Surgical Technologist Program: The Candidate Should Have Completed An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program And Received A Certificate Or Diploma.

  • Certification As A Surgical Technologist: The Candidate Should Hold A Current Certification As A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Experience In Open Heart Surgery: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technologist In Open Heart Surgery, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment And Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Equipment, Instruments, And Procedures Used In Open Heart Surgery.

  • Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Under Pressure: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail And The Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment. This Is Essential For Ensuring Patient Safety And Assisting The Surgical Team During Complex Procedures.
