  1. Perform sterilization procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Maintain and operate sterilization equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
  3. Inspect and assemble medical instruments and equipment for sterilization, following strict guidelines for cleanliness and sanitation.
  4. Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure effectiveness and compliance with industry standards.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterilized equipment and instruments for patient care.
  6. Adhere to infection control protocols and procedures to prevent the spread of diseases and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  7. Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities, including tracking inventory and expiration dates of sterilized items.
  8. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment, and report any malfunctions or concerns to appropriate personnel.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and changes in sterilization techniques and equipment.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, and properly dispose of biohazard waste according to established protocols.
  11. Participate in training and educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to sterilization procedures.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Educational Requirement For A Sterilization Technician Position At Baptist Health South Florida Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Minimum Level Of Education And Basic Knowledge Needed For The Job.

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Certification: Baptist Health South Florida Prefers Candidates Who Have Obtained The Crcst Certification From The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm). This Certification Demonstrates A Thorough Understanding Of Sterilization Techniques And Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Procedures And Equipment: A Strong Understanding Of Sterilization Procedures And Equipment Is Essential For A Sterilization Technician At Baptist Health South Florida. This Includes Knowledge Of Autoclaves, Chemical Sterilization Methods, And Biological Indicators.
