Job Description

Baptist Health South Florida is seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Dosimetrist, Radiation Oncology to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Reporting to the Director of Radiation Oncology and collaborating with all members of the multidisciplinary team, the Senior Dosimetrist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of radiation treatments to our patients. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a deep commitment to providing excellent patient care.The Senior Dosimetrist will provide the highest level of service in the development of radiation treatment plans, including dose calculations, beam arrangements, and 3D treatment planning. Additionally, the Senior Dosimetrist will collaborate with other members of the radiation oncology team, providing consultation and guidance to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence in radiation oncology.Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiologic Technology, as well as certification as a Medical Dosimetrist from an accredited medical dosimetrist program. At least two years of experience as a Medical Dosimetrist in radiation oncology is also required, as well as a strong understanding of current radiation oncology technology. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of technical and organizational skills, as well as exceptional problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities for the Senior Dosimetrist, Radiation Oncology:

  1. Develop radiation treatment plans, including dose calculations, beam arrangements, and 3D treatment planning.
  2. Collaborate with other members of the radiation oncology team to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes.
  3. Provide consultation and guidance to ensure safe and accurate delivery of radiation treatments.
  4. Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations related to the field of radiation oncology.
  5. Educate patients and families about radiation treatments, as well as other treatment options.
  6. Monitor patients throughout the course of radiation treatments and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  7. Utilize advanced technology to provide the most accurate radiation treatments.
  8. Maintain accurate records of radiation treatments and patient progress.
  9. Participate in research activities and other quality improvement initiatives.
  10. Assist with training and mentoring of new dosimetrists.
