- Provide high-quality and compassionate wound care services to patients in accordance with the organization's mission and values.
- Utilize expert clinical knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care treatments for patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans for each patient, incorporating their specific needs and goals.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including wound healing and response to treatments, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families on proper wound care techniques and home care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Stay up-to-date on current wound care practices and participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude towards patients, promoting a positive patient experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all aspects of job responsibilities.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies needed for wound care services.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Position At Baptist Health South Florida. This Educational Qualification Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Practices.
Registered Nurse (Rn) License: All Applicants For An Inpatient Wound Care Rn Position At Baptist Health South Florida Must Possess A Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Florida. This License Is Obtained Through Successfully Passing The National Council Licensure Examination (Nclex) And Is A Requirement For Practicing As A Nurse In The State.
Wound Care Certification: Baptist Health South Florida Prefers Candidates Who Hold A Wound Care Certification, Such As The Wound, Ostomy, And Continence Nursing Certification Board (Wocncb) Or The American Board Of Wound Management (Abwm). This Certification Demonstrates Specialized Knowledge And Expertise In Wound Care Management.
Clinical Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of Two Years Of Clinical Experience Working As A Registered Nurse, Preferably In An Inpatient Setting. This Experience Should Include Caring For Patients With Complex Wounds, Such As Pressure Ulcers, Diabetic Foot Ulcers, And Surgical Wounds.
Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: As An Inpatient Wound Care Rn, Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills Are Essential For Collaborating With Physicians, Developing Treatment Plans, And Educating Patients And Their Families On Wound Care Management. Candidates Must Possess These Skills To Provide High-Quality Patient Care At Baptist Health South Florida.
