- Accurately and efficiently collect blood samples from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the laboratory.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as processing and labeling specimens, to support laboratory operations.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems to accurately record patient information and test results.
- Follow established protocols and guidelines for specimen collection and handling to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to troubleshoot and resolve any issues or concerns related to specimen collection and processing.
- Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment, and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be restocked.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in phlebotomy and laboratory operations.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Completion Of A Phlebotomy Program: A Phlebotomist, Laboratory-Support Must Have Completed A Formal Training Program In Phlebotomy And Have A Certificate Or Diploma From An Accredited Institution.
Certification: Most Employers Require A Phlebotomist To Be Certified Through A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Phlebotomist Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures In Order To Accurately Label Samples And Communicate With Medical Staff.
Experience With Venipuncture And Specimen Collection: A Phlebotomist Must Have Experience Performing Venipuncture And Collecting Various Types Of Specimens, Such As Blood, Urine, And Tissue Samples.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: As A Phlebotomist, Laboratory-Support, It Is Crucial To Have A Keen Attention To Detail And Be Highly Accurate In Collecting, Labeling, And Recording Specimens To Ensure Patient Safety And Proper Diagnosis.
