Job Description

  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Label, process, and prepare blood samples for testing in the laboratory.
  3. Maintain accurate and complete records of patient information and test results.
  4. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients to provide a positive experience and alleviate any fears or concerns.
  6. Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of samples.
  7. Handle and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
  8. Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  9. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
  10. Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology and laboratory testing processes.
  11. Assist in other laboratory tasks and duties as needed.
  12. Display a strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service and represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  14. Uphold the mission and values of Baptist Health South Florida in all aspects of the job.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Phlebotomist, Laboratory Support Job At Baptist Health South Florida Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Follow Instructions Accurately.

Strong Communication Skills Are Necessary To Ensure Accurate And Timely Collection And Delivery Of Specimens.
