  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the radiation therapy department, ensuring that all treatments are delivered accurately and safely.
  2. Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and efficacy of radiation therapy treatments.
  3. Provide technical leadership and guidance to other medical physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists.
  4. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines related to radiation therapy.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in radiation therapy and implement new technologies and techniques as needed.
  7. Train and mentor new medical physicists and other staff members on the proper use of equipment and techniques.
  8. Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the quality of treatment plans and identify areas for improvement.
  9. Communicate with patients and their families to address any concerns or questions about their treatment plans.
  10. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  11. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all treatments and procedures performed.
  12. Collaborate with the physics team to develop and maintain a safe working environment for staff and patients.
  13. Continuously evaluate and optimize treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
  14. Represent the radiation therapy department in multidisciplinary meetings and assist in developing treatment plans for complex cases.
  15. Act as a liaison between the radiation therapy department and other departments within the hospital to ensure efficient and coordinated patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Radiology (Abr) Or The American Board Of Medical Physics (Abmp) In Therapeutic Medical Physics.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Medical Physicist, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role.

  • Knowledge Of Regulations: Strong Understanding Of Applicable Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Therapeutic Medical Physics, Including Radiation Safety, Quality Assurance, And Accreditation Requirements.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient In The Use Of Treatment Planning Systems, Linear Accelerators, And Other Radiation Therapy Equipment. Experience With Advanced Treatment Techniques Such As Imrt, Vmat, And Sbrt Is Preferred.

  • Communication And Leadership Skills: Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills To Effectively Lead A Team Of Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, And Radiation Therapists. Must Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team And Effectively Communicate With Patients And Their Families.
