- Provide critical support to healthcare professionals in the Emergency Department (ED) by assisting with patient care procedures, vital sign monitoring, and other tasks as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in the ED, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and stocked for use.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide a positive and comfortable experience for all.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from the ED, including ambulating, transferring, and positioning patients as needed.
- Perform basic nursing skills under the direction of a registered nurse, such as collecting specimens, performing EKGs, and administering basic medications.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Anticipate and respond to the needs of patients and healthcare team members in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to minimize risks and promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge related to emergency medicine.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and continuously strive for improvement in all aspects of the job.
- Stay updated on emergency medicine best practices and new developments in the field to provide the most current and effective care for patients.
