
Dosimetrist
Baptist Health South Florida is seeking a talented and motivated Dosimetrist to join our team. This individual will be part of a team of medical professionals providing superior care to our patients. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for providing excellent patient care and a commitment to quality care. The Dosimetrist will be responsible for the planning of radiation treatment to cancer patients and the calculation of radiation dose for each treatment. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of radiation therapy, radiation safety, patient care, and the physical characteristics of radiation.Qualifications for this role include:• A Bachelor’s Degree in a medical or life science field is required• Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) is required• Minimum of 1 year of dosimetry experience is required• Knowledge of medical dosimetry principles and practices is required• Knowledge of cancer biology and oncology principles is required• Knowledge of radiation safety and radiation oncology is required• Proficiency in computer systems and software is required• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are required• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment is required
Responsibilities:
- Plan radiation treatment to cancer patients in accordance with radiation oncology protocols.
- Calculate radiation dose for each treatment.
- Maintain accurate records of radiation treatments.
- Ensure radiation safety for all treatments.
- Design treatment plans with consideration of patient anatomy, tumor size, and other factors.
- Monitor patient’s progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education and support to patients before and after treatment.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to provide superior care to patients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical dosimetry principles and practices.
- Utilize computer systems and software to assist in treatments and calculations.
- Monitor and adhere to radiation safety regulations.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
