Job Description

Baptist Health South Florida is seeking an experienced and motivated Cytotechnologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing cytology tests to detect abnormal cells and/or cancer. You will be an integral part of our patient care team, providing high-quality, accurate results for our patients.To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science or Cytotechnology, and be certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification. Responsibilities: • Perform cytology tests to detect abnormal cells and/or cancer • Interpret test results accurately and provide high-quality patient care • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals • Maintain patient records and follow laboratory procedures • Ensure compliance with ASCP and other regulatory standards • Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities • Provide patient education and support • Assess and troubleshoot any issues related to the cytology department
