Job Description

We are searching for an experienced and talented Certified Anesthesia Technician to join the outstanding team at Baptist Health South Florida. This position is responsible for providing safe and efficient care to patients during surgical procedures, and requires a highly knowledgeable individual with strong technical and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical, medical, and interpersonal skills.To be successful in this role, the Certified Anesthesia Technician should have a minimum of an Associate's degree in Anesthesia Technology and be certified by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians. Additionally, the Technician should have experience in the perioperative environment and be able to work collaboratively with the anesthesia care team. The Technician should be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our team, the Technician will be expected to provide excellent customer service and be committed to patient safety.

Responsibilities for the Certified Anesthesia Technician:

  1. Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs during surgery.
  3. Assist anesthesia care team with patient positioning, intubation, and extubation.
  4. Maintain accurate records of patient care, medications, and treatments.
  5. Review and update patient medical records as necessary.
  6. Administer medications and fluids as directed by the anesthesia care team.
  7. Perform quality assurance checks of anesthesia equipment.
  8. Assist in emergency situations and provide support to the anesthesia provider.
  9. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  10. Contribute to the development and implementation of anesthesia related policies and procedures.
