Job Description

Baptist Health in Kentucky is looking for an experienced and compassionate Vascular Sonographer to join our team. We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual who is committed to providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of vascular sonography principles and techniques, as well as advanced knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology.The successful candidate must have a valid certification in vascular sonography from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). A minimum of one year of clinical experience in vascular sonography is preferred. The Vascular Sonographer must be proficient in the use of ultrasound equipment and display excellent critical thinking skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Knowledge of electronic medical records is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform vascular sonography as per established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Prepare and maintain patient records, including notes, reports, images, and other relevant data.
  3. Operate ultrasound equipment and other diagnostic instruments efficiently and accurately.
  4. Evaluate sonographic images and generate reports for physician review.
  5. Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
  6. Monitor patient health and safety during examinations.
  7. Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding patient care.
  8. Maintain accurate records of patient visits, exams, and test results.
  9. Provide clear and concise explanations of examination results to patients.
  10. Assist in the training of new staff members.
