  1. Provide support to the therapy team by assisting with patient treatments and procedures.
  2. Collaborate with therapists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  3. Monitor and record patient progress, including vital signs and functional abilities.
  4. Assist with patient transfers and mobility to ensure safety and comfort.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized therapy area to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide the highest level of care.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illness and maintain a safe environment for patients.
  8. Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on best practices and new developments in therapy techniques.
  9. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their recovery journey.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  12. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  13. Attend department meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  14. Continuously uphold and promote the mission and values of Baptist Health.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Certification: A Therapy Technician At Baptist Health Should Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent And Be Certified As A Physical Therapy Aide, Occupational Therapy Aide, Or Speech Therapy Aide.

  • Experience In Acute Care Setting: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In An Acute Care Hospital Or Rehabilitation Center, Preferably In A Therapy Department.

  • Knowledge Of Therapy Procedures And Equipment: A Therapy Technician Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Therapy Procedures And Be Familiar With The Equipment And Tools Used In Physical, Occupational, And Speech Therapy.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Therapists, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial For A Therapy Technician In An Acute Care Setting.

  • Empathy And Compassion: Working With Patients Who Are Recovering From Injuries Or Illnesses Requires A High Level Of Empathy And Compassion. Candidates Should Demonstrate A Genuine Desire To Help Others And Provide Emotional Support During The Healing Process.
