Job Description

We are currently seeking a Surgical Nursing Assistant to join our team in Kentucky. As a Surgical Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting our surgical team in providing high-quality care to our patients.   1. Assist the surgical team in preparing and setting up the operating room for procedures.
  2. Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order.
  3. Assist with patient positioning and transferring during procedures.
  4. Monitor and document patients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the surgical team.
  5. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and follow proper infection control protocols.
  6. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are properly sterilized and organized.
  7. Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including dressing changes and wound care.
  8. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during surgical procedures.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal healthcare regulations.
  11. Attend and participate in training and educational programs to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  12. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all procedures and patient care activities.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient and coordinated patient care.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Ged Equivalent.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Candidates Should Have A Current And Valid Cna Certification From An Accredited Program.

  • Previous Experience In A Surgical Setting: Candidates Should Have At Least 1 Year Of Experience Working In A Surgical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Candidates Should Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Well In A Team Is Crucial For This Role, As Surgical Nursing Assistants Work Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
