Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to join our team and lead our growing specialty pharmacy department. As a supervisor, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise and leadership skills to oversee the daily operations of our specialty pharmacy, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.   1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the specialty pharmacy department at Baptist Health.
  2. Ensure the highest level of care and service is provided to patients by the specialty pharmacy team.
  3. Supervise and lead a team of pharmacy technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering medications and supplies as needed.
  5. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications.
  6. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  8. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to pharmacy technicians.
  9. Continuously assess and improve processes to increase efficiency and productivity within the specialty pharmacy department.
  10. Stay updated on industry developments and new medications to ensure the specialty pharmacy is offering the most current and effective treatments.
  11. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all pharmacy activities.
  12. Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols to protect the integrity of medications and patient information.
  13. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
  14. Assist with recruitment and hiring of new pharmacy technicians.
  15. Participate in meetings and trainings as required by Baptist Health.

Job Qualifications
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht) From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has A Solid Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations, Including Medication Dispensing And Inventory Management.

  • Previous Supervisory Experience: The Specialty Pharmacy Technician Supervisor Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Supervisory Role, Preferably In A Specialty Pharmacy Setting. This Experience Will Showcase Their Ability To Lead A Team, Manage Workflow, And Handle Any Issues That May Arise.

  • Knowledge Of Specialty Pharmacy Operations: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Specialty Pharmacy Operations, Including Medication Compounding, Patient Care Coordination, And Insurance Billing. This Knowledge Is Crucial In Ensuring The Smooth Functioning Of The Specialty Pharmacy Department.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Supervisor, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Effectively Communicating With Their Team, As Well As Other Healthcare Professionals And Patients. Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Attention To Detail: The Specialty Pharmacy Technician Supervisor Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accuracy In Medication Dispensing And Inventory Management. They Should Also Be Able To Identify Any Potential Errors Or Issues And Take Appropriate Actions To Prevent Them.
