- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients with stroke and neurologic conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' condition, including vital signs, neurological status, and response to treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about stroke and neurologic conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure patient safety and quality care.
- Remain up-to-date on current trends and best practices in stroke and neurologic nursing through ongoing education and professional development.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other nursing staff, sharing knowledge and expertise in stroke and neurologic care.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork within the department and hospital.
Current Rn License In The State Of Kentucky: This Is A Mandatory Requirement For Any Rn Position At Baptist Health, As It Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Education And Training Requirements To Practice Nursing In The State.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn): While An Associate's Degree In Nursing (Adn) Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For Rns, Baptist Health Strongly Prefers Candidates With A Bsn. This Higher Level Of Education Provides A More Comprehensive Understanding Of Nursing Concepts And Prepares Nurses For Leadership Roles.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Stroke/Neuro Nursing: Baptist Health Is Looking For Candidates Who Have A Strong Background In Stroke And Neuro Care. Having At Least 2 Years Of Experience In This Specialty Area Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Provide High-Quality Care To Patients With Complex Neurological Conditions.
Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Essential For Any Nurse Working In A Hospital Setting. Baptist Health Requires All Rns To Be Certified In Both Bls And Acls To Ensure They Can Respond Quickly And Effectively To Emergency Situations.
Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: As A Stroke/Neuro Nurse, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Monitoring And Assessing Patients' Neurological Status, Administering Medications, And Collaborating With Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication Skills And Critical Thinking Abilities Are Crucial For Providing Safe And Effective Care To Patients In This Specialty Area.
