Job Description

Baptist Health is looking for a compassionate and patient-focused Registered Nurse-Labor & Delivery to join our team at our Kentucky hospital. As a Registered Nurse-Labor & Delivery, you will be responsible for providing care and support to women and their families during the childbirth process. With your skills and expertise, you will be an integral part of the Labor & Delivery team, providing the highest quality of care to our patients.This role requires an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for delivering the best possible patient care, and a dedication to providing an outstanding experience. You must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Kentucky Board of Nursing and possess at least two years of experience in labor & delivery. We are looking for an individual who will take initiative and work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide optimal care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate childbirth needs, develop a plan of care, and coordinate patient care for labor and delivery.
  2. Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, and maternal vital signs throughout labor.
  3. Assist with medical interventions, such as epidurals and cesarean sections, as needed.
  4. Administer medications as prescribed by physician.
  5. Educate patients and their families on labor & delivery processes and expectations.
  6. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during labor.
  7. Document patient care and progress in the medical record.
  8. Monitor the labor & delivery environment to ensure safety and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  9. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care to patients.
  10. Maintain professional knowledge and competency in labor & delivery nursing.
