
PRN Community/Retail Pharmacy Technician

- Assist in the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure accuracy in filling and labeling prescriptions.
- Maintain inventory and stock levels of medications.
- Follow all pharmacy policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
- Process insurance claims and assist with prior authorizations.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Stay current on pharmacy industry trends and updates.
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians as needed.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations related to pharmacy operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain required certifications.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to improve pharmacy processes and patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy management.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math, Science, And Communication Skills.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht): Candidates Must Hold A Valid Cpht Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Competency In Pharmacy Operations.
Experience In A Retail Or Community Pharmacy Setting: Candidates With Prior Experience In A Retail Or Community Pharmacy Setting Will Have An Advantage In This Role. They Should Be Familiar With Pharmacy Operations, Prescription Processing, And Customer Service.
Knowledge Of Pharmacy Software And Technology: Proficiency In Using Pharmacy Software And Technology Is Essential For This Position. Candidates Should Be Able To Navigate The Pharmacy's Computer System, Input Prescription Information Accurately, And Troubleshoot Any Technical Issues.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Prn Community/Retail Pharmacy Technician, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Pharmacy Staff. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Crucial For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Communicate Effectively, Handle Customer Inquiries And Complaints, And Maintain A Professional Demeanor At All Times.
