Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a dynamic Patient Access Coordinator to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive and seamless experience for all.   1. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and positive experience for all individuals.
  2. Coordinate and facilitate the patient registration process, including verifying insurance information, obtaining necessary authorizations, and collecting patient demographics.
  3. Utilize strong communication skills to effectively and compassionately interact with patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  4. Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in all patient interactions and data entry, ensuring accurate and timely information is recorded.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure a seamless and efficient flow of patients through the registration process.
  6. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  7. Utilize knowledge of healthcare operations and insurance policies to assist patients with understanding their coverage and financial responsibilities.
  8. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures related to patient access, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  9. Serve as an ambassador for Baptist Health, promoting our mission and values in all interactions with patients, families, and team members.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment, adapting to changing needs and priorities as necessary.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent Required; Associate's Or Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or Related Field Preferred

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Patient Access Or Healthcare Administration, Preferably In A Hospital Setting

  • Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Insurance Verification, And Authorization Processes

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills And Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals

  • Proficient Computer Skills And Experience With Electronic Medical Records And Scheduling Systems
