Job Description

At Baptist Health (Kentucky), we are looking for an experienced and passionate Paramedic to join our Ambulance Service team. This position requires an individual with strong medical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make quick decisions in a high-stress environment. If you are a highly organized, self-motivated, and compassionate individual looking to make a difference in the lives of our patients, this may be the perfect role for you.The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:• Current certification as a Paramedic in Kentucky• Current American Heart Association BLS certification• Current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of pre-hospital emergency medical care• Knowledge of applicable safety standards, medical protocols, and regulations• Ability to work with minimal supervision• Excellent interpersonal communication skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipmentIf you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide pre-hospital emergency medical care according to applicable safety standards, medical protocols, and regulations.
  2. Administer first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and other life-saving measures.
  3. Design and implement patient care plans in accordance with physician instructions and established protocols.
  4. Monitor patient condition during transport, making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
  5. Communicate with healthcare professionals and other personnel to provide patient information and updates.
  6. Document patient care and treatment information in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  7. Operate and maintain ambulance equipment and supplies.
  8. Adhere to patient confidentiality standards and regulations.
  9. Participate in continuing education programs to stay abreast of new developments in the field.
  10. Provide support to other members of the ambulance service team.
