Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Acute Care department. As an Occupational Therapist at Baptist Health, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families by assisting them in regaining independence and improving their quality of life.   1. Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in the Acute Care department in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  2. Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  3. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  4. Utilize evidence-based techniques and modalities to help patients improve their functional abilities and achieve their goals.
  5. Educate and train patients, their families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.
  6. Monitor and document patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  8. Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards in the delivery of occupational therapy services.
  9. Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field of occupational therapy and participate in professional development opportunities.
  10. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing information.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and compassionate care.
  12. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the Acute Care department.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  15. Represent Baptist Health in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited University.

  • Active And Unrestricted Occupational Therapy License In The State Of Kentucky.

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Setting, Preferably At A Hospital.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams And Patients.

  • Knowledge And Proficiency In Evidence-Based Practice And Treatment Techniques For Acute Care Patients, Including Experience With Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, And Orthopedic Conditions.
