  1. Monitor and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
  2. Assist with procedures such as blood draws, IV insertions, and wound care.
  3. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during their stay at Baptist Health.
  4. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
  5. Follow all hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Document all patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
  8. Participate in continuous education and training to maintain and improve job skills.
  9. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families.
  10. Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team to ensure their needs are met.
  11. Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to minimize the risk of infection.
  12. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  13. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by being a team player.
  14. Attend team meetings and actively participate in discussions to improve patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Can Effectively Communicate And Perform Basic Tasks.

  • Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility Is Preferred For This Role. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Equipment, And Procedures.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: A Bls Certification Is Required For This Position. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Can Respond To Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Observation Unit Technician, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Observation Unit Can Be A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment, With Multiple Patients And Tasks To Attend To. The Candidate Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks Efficiently And Remain Calm Under Pressure.
