Job Description

We are looking for an innovative, detail-oriented Microbiology Medical Laboratory Scientist to join Baptist Health (Kentucky). In this role, you will use complex laboratory processes and testing methods to examine samples and evaluate results. You must have the ability to think critically and problem-solve, as well as the dedication to maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality. If you are an experienced professional with a passion for laboratory science, we want to hear from you.To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, and at least two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. You must also possess a valid certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, or have the ability to obtain one within six months of hire. Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, quality control procedures, and compliance standards is also essential. Experience with testing for infectious diseases and familiarity with advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex laboratory processes and testing methods to examine samples and evaluate results
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to accurately interpret test results
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality in all laboratory work
  • Maintain laboratory safety protocols, quality control procedures, and compliance standards
  • Prepare and analyze samples for testing of infectious diseases
  • Utilize advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation
  • Ensure all laboratory records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines for medical laboratory science
  • Maintain a valid certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology or obtain one within six months of hire
