Job Description

Baptist Health (Kentucky) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Facility HIM Birth Registrar to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary qualifications to perform the duties of a Facility HIM Birth Registrar in a fast-paced, ever-growing healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and customer service skills. To be successful in this role, the Facility HIM Birth Registrar must possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. The Facility HIM Birth Registrar must be certified in a RHIT or RHIA program and have knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10. Additionally, the candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft Office and other related software programs. Responsibilities for a Facility HIM Birth Registrar:

  1. Collect and verify all pertinent information regarding newborns and their parents.
  2. Ensure accuracy of all birth certificates and other medical information.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of birth information.
  4. Enter information into the hospital’s electronic health record system.
  5. Review and update patient medical records.
  6. Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Assist with filing and organizing medical records and documents.
  8. Provide support and assistance to other departments as needed.
  9. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  10. Stay current with industry developments and best practices.
