As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a crucial role in accurately and efficiently performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, helping to diagnose and treat patients.   1. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently, following established protocols and procedures.
  2. Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, and processing to maintain the integrity of test results.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  4. Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to quality control procedures.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to accurately interpret and communicate test results.
  6. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Keep up-to-date with new developments, techniques, and procedures in the field of medical laboratory science.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues, addressing any concerns or questions in a professional and compassionate manner.
  9. Maintain appropriate documentation and records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of laboratory processes.
  11. Assist in training and mentoring new laboratory staff, as needed.
  12. Comply with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  13. Adhere to the organization's mission, values, and code of conduct.
  14. Represent Baptist Health in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Valid Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) By A Nationally Recognized Certifying Agency, Such As Ascp Or Amt.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Core Lab Environment.

  • Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Equipment, Techniques, And Procedures, As Well As The Ability To Troubleshoot And Maintain Equipment.

  • Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team In A Fast-Paced Environment.
