Job Description

Baptist Health (Kentucky) is looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Clerk/Phlebotomist - Laboratory to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing quality phlebotomy services in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. We are seeking someone who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.To be considered for this position, applicants must possess at least a high school diploma or GED, as well as a valid Kentucky State Phlebotomy License. Prior experience in a healthcare setting and/or phlebotomy is preferred but not required. Additionally, successful candidates must be comfortable working with computers and medical software, and must possess a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities:

  1. Draw blood samples from patients in a safe and timely manner in accordance with established standards.
  2. Label and process specimens for analysis and testing.
  3. Ensure accurate record keeping and documentation of all collected samples.
  4. Utilize computer systems to enter patient and laboratory data.
  5. Ensure safe handling and storage of all specimens.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  7. Follow safety regulations and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
  10. Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
