- Perform routine laboratory tests and accurately record and analyze results.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding laboratory results.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.
- Keep up-to-date with new laboratory techniques and procedures and implement them accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results.
- Adhere to all hospital and laboratory policies and procedures.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on patient needs.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Train and mentor new team members as needed.
- Participate in quality control and assurance measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or manager.
Bachelor's Degree In Chemistry Or Related Field: The Successful Candidate Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Chemistry Or A Related Field Such As Biochemistry Or Chemical Engineering. This Educational Background Will Provide The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Laboratory Experiments And Analyses.
Previous Laboratory Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Chemistry Laboratory, Either Through Internships, Research Projects, Or Previous Employment, Is Highly Desirable. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle Laboratory Equipment, Follow Safety Protocols, And Perform Accurate Experiments.
Strong Analytical Skills: A Prn (As Needed) Laboratory Position At Baptist Health Requires A Candidate With Excellent Analytical Skills. This Includes The Ability To Interpret Data, Troubleshoot Experimental Procedures, And Identify Potential Errors Or Inconsistencies.
Attention To Detail: In A Chemistry Laboratory, Even The Smallest Mistake Can Have Significant Consequences. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A High Level Of Attention To Detail, Ensuring That Experiments Are Conducted Accurately And Results Are Recorded Correctly.
Flexibility And Availability: As A Prn Employee, The Candidate Should Be Flexible And Available To Work On An As-Needed Basis. This May Include Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays, Depending On The Needs Of The Laboratory. The Ability To Adapt To Changing Schedules And Handle A Variety Of Tasks Is Essential For This Role.
