Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cardiovascular Surgery RN PRN to join our team at Baptist Health in Kentucky. As a PRN RN, you will provide registered nursing care to patients of all ages in the cardiovascular surgery setting with a quality-driven approach. This is an opportunity to join a prestigious health system and make a difference in the lives of patients while working with a professional and supportive healthcare team. To be successful in this role, you must have a current RN license in Kentucky and possess a minimum of two years of nursing experience in a cardiovascular setting. You must be organized and able to communicate effectively with team members, as well as have a compassionate and caring attitude to provide quality nursing care. A knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, and an understanding of cardiovascular procedures is also essential. You must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform direct patient care in a cardiovascular surgery setting, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing comfort and support to patients.
  2. Provide nursing care in accordance with accepted nursing practices and the patient’s plan of care.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual patient care plans.
  4. Document patient care provided, changes in patient status, and other relevant information.
  5. Assist with patient preparation for and recovery from surgical procedures.
  6. Educate patients and their families on cardiac anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular treatments and procedures.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  8. Maintain current RN license in Kentucky.
  9. Remain knowledgeable of current trends and procedures in cardiovascular surgery and nursing.
  10. Assess patient needs and develop effective nursing care plans.
