- Assist Veterinarians: The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for supporting and assisting veterinarians in all aspects of animal care, including performing medical procedures, administering medication, and assisting with surgeries.
- Provide Exceptional Care: The primary responsibility of the Veterinary Technician is to ensure that all patients receive exceptional care. This includes monitoring their health, administering treatments, and providing comfort and support to both the animals and their owners.
- Maintain Clean and Safe Environment: The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for both the animals and staff. This includes properly sterilizing equipment, keeping exam rooms tidy, and following all safety protocols.
- Communicate with Pet Owners: The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for communicating with pet owners about their animal's care, providing updates on medical procedures, and answering any questions they may have.
- Perform Diagnostic Tests: The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for performing and accurately recording diagnostic tests, such as blood work, x-rays, and ultrasounds, as directed by the veterinarian.
- Administer Medications: The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for administering medications to patients as prescribed by the veterinarian, and ensuring that all medications are properly documented and dispensed.
- Assist with Surgeries: The Veterinary Technician will assist the veterinarian during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, monitoring the patient's vital signs, and providing post-operative care.
- Maintain Medical Records: The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, including keeping track of vaccinations, medications, and treatments.
- Educate Pet Owners: The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for educating pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, exercise, and preventative care, to help improve the overall health and well-being of their pets.

Certification Or Degree In Veterinary Technology: A Veterinary Technician At Banfield Pet Hospital Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Veterinary Technology And Hold A Certification Or Degree In The Field.
Experience Working With Animals: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working With A Variety Of Animals, Preferably In A Clinical Setting. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Handle And Care For Animals In A Professional Manner.
Knowledge Of Veterinary Medicine And Procedures: As A Veterinary Technician, It Is Important To Have A Strong Understanding Of Veterinary Medicine And Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Anesthesia, Surgery, And Common Medical Treatments For Animals.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: A Key Aspect Of The Job Is Communicating With Pet Owners And Providing Exceptional Customer Service. Candidates Should Possess Strong Communication Skills And Be Able To Effectively Educate And Assist Clients With Their Pet's Care.
