Veterinary Assistant

Banfield Pet Hospital is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our veterinarians and staff to ensure the highest quality of care for our animal patients. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will help perform routine examinations and medical treatments, assist with surgery, and provide general support to the veterinary team. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational and communication skills, possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate a passion for animal care. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm in stressful situations is also essential. We are looking for someone who is willing to go the extra mile to provide our pet patients with the best possible experience.Minimum Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital setting is preferred, but not required• Knowledge of medical terminology• Ability to lift up to 40lbs• Strong organizational and communication skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm in stressful situations• A passion for animal care and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service

Responsibilities:

1. Assist veterinarians in providing routine medical examinations and treatments.
2. Assist with surgery and provide general support to the veterinary team.
3. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with laboratory and diagnostic tests.
4. Monitor and care for patients post-surgery.
5. Clean and maintain the hospital equipment.
6. Monitor inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
7. Receive and process payments.
8. Assist with educating clients on their pet’s health care needs.
9. Provide exceptional customer service to all clients.
10. Remain calm in stressful situations.
