Veterinary Assistant

The successful candidate should have prior veterinary experience and maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with clients and their pets.Required Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital• Excellent communication and organizational skills• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds• Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods of time• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite• Knowledge of animal anatomy, diseases, and treatments

Responsibilities:

1. Provide support to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other staff members.
2. Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
3. Monitor and document signs and symptoms of animal patients.
4. Assist with laboratory tests and interpreting results.
5. Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment.
6. Assist with euthanasia and post-mortem procedures as needed.
7. Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals and their owners.
8. Follow protocols for handling medical records, invoices, and other documents.
9. Prepare and administer vaccines and medications as directed.
10. Support the veterinary team in providing the highest quality of patient care.
