Veterinary Assistant

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for animals and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the veterinarian and veterinary technicians by assisting with patient care, preparing and administering treatments, and filling prescriptions. To be successful in this role, the Veterinary Assistant will need strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, as well as a friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanor. The following qualifications are required:

Responsibilities:

• Assisting veterinarian and veterinary technicians in providing care to patients
• Administering treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
• Filling prescriptions for patients
• Maintaining client records and other administrative tasks
• Monitoring patient’s health and providing comfort
• Sanitizing and maintaining veterinary equipment
• Educating clients on proper pet care
• Assisting in restraining animals during exams and treatments
• Monitoring animal behavior and providing input to the veterinarian
• Collecting samples from patients for laboratory tests
• Providing emotional support to clients and their pets
