Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities: • Greet clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with exams, treatments, and procedures • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian • Monitor patient progress and notify veterinarian of any changes • Provide compassionate care for patients, including feeding, bathing, walking, and cleaning • Restrain animals for examinations and treatments • Educate clients on animal care and preventive medicine • Maintain records and inventory of medications, supplies, and equipment • Clean and sanitize exam and treatment rooms • Assist in preparing surgical instruments and equipment • Monitor vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration • Assist in laboratory procedures such as fecal exams, urinalyses, and blood tests • Assist in radiographs, ultrasound scans, and other diagnostic imaging procedures
