Waste Water Technician

Operate and maintain the waste water continuous flow pretreatment plant, and ensure that the system is clean, and all discharge parameters are within the set limits of the current industrial permit. Use chemical analysis to characterize waste water. This may include periodic jar testing, pH meter calibration, and operations of an atomic absorption equipment. Use chemicals, pumps, tanks and valves, and other means to reduce contaminates in waste water prior to discharge or shipment. Use various chemical analysis techniques to test and diagnose operation of ion exchange water purification system. Provide chemical analysis to support hazardous waste management operations. Check chemical inventory for assurance of sufficient supply. Assist in defining the proper PPE for all chemicals in the areas of work. Maintain records required by industrial sewer and other chemical-or waste related permits. Maintain hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal profiles. Audit chemical control procedures in all areas. Assist and advise the On-Scene Incident Commander during your planning and emergency response. Inspect condition of waste containers and transfer of content if necessary.
