We are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team and support our General Insurance (GI) Distribution and Regulation division. This is a critical role within our organization, and the successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring our compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, while also providing valuable legal advice and guidance to our GI distribution teams. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of the insurance industry, excellent communication skills, and a strong track record of success in a similar role.   1. Provide legal advice and guidance to the General Insurance Distribution and Regulation division.
  2. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in the insurance industry.
  3. Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision making.
  4. Review and negotiate contracts and agreements related to GI distribution.
  5. Advise on potential legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure legal compliance in all business activities.
  7. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to the insurance industry.
  8. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
  9. Represent the company in legal proceedings related to GI distribution.
  10. Train and educate team members on legal matters and best practices.
  11. Build and maintain relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
  12. Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to GI distribution.
  13. Meet with clients and partners to discuss legal matters and provide support when needed.
  14. Manage a team of legal professionals and oversee their work.
  15. Continuously monitor and improve legal processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Insurance Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Laws And Regulations Governing The Insurance Industry, Particularly In The Field Of General Insurance Distribution And Regulation.

  • Strong Legal Background: A Senior Legal Counsel Must Possess A Law Degree And Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In A Legal Role, Preferably In The Insurance Industry. A Background In Corporate Law And Contract Negotiation Is Also Highly Desirable.

  • Experience In Regulatory Compliance: The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Ensuring Compliance With Regulatory Requirements And Proactively Identifying And Mitigating Potential Risks.

  • Excellent Communication And Analytical Skills: As A Senior Legal Counsel, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Advising And Communicating Complex Legal Issues To Different Stakeholders. Therefore, Strong Communication And Analytical Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Leadership And Management Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Leading A Team And Managing Multiple Projects Simultaneously. They Should Also Have The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams And Provide Guidance And Mentorship To Junior Legal Team Members.
