
Unarmed Security Officer

- Monitor and patrol designated areas of the healthcare facility to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any security incidents or emergencies, including but not limited to medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety hazards.
- Enforce all facility policies and procedures related to security, including access control, visitor management, and code of conduct.
- Communicate with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner, providing assistance and information as needed.
- Conduct security checks and screenings as required, including bag checks and metal detector screenings.
- Report any security breaches, safety hazards, or suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities and follow established protocols for incident management.
- Provide support to other departments as needed, including assisting with patient transport or responding to patient alarms.
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports of all security activities, incidents, and investigations.
- Continuously monitor and assess security risks and make recommendations for improvements to the security program.
- Attend and actively participate in all required training and meetings to stay updated on security protocols and procedures.
- Uphold the core values of compassion, excellence, and teamwork in all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to security and healthcare.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while representing Atrium Health.
- Collaborate with other members of the security team to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor or other designated leaders.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Atrium Health Requires All Applicants For The Unarmed Security Officer Position To Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged.
Previous Security Experience: Candidates With Previous Experience In The Security Field, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Will Be Given Preference For The Unarmed Security Officer Role At Atrium Health.
Valid State Security License: Applicants Must Possess A Valid And Current State Security License, Or Be Able To Obtain One Prior To Starting Employment With Atrium Health.
Strong Communication Skills: The Unarmed Security Officer Will Be Required To Communicate With Patients, Visitors, And Staff In A Professional And Effective Manner. Therefore, Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential For This Position.
Physical Fitness: The Unarmed Security Officer Role At Atrium Health May Require Standing, Walking, And Patrolling For Extended Periods Of Time. Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Duties Without Limitation.
