- Perform high-quality ultrasound scans on patients using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Prepare patients for the procedure by explaining the process, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Accurately document all patient information and scan results in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Monitor and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions or issues.
- Stay up-to-date with current techniques, protocols, and equipment in the field of ultrasound technology.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Educate and train new technologists and students on ultrasound procedures and techniques.

Completion Of An Accredited Ultrasound Technology Program: Atrium Health Requires All Ultrasound Technologists To Have Completed A Two-Year Associate's Degree Or A Four-Year Bachelor's Degree Program In Ultrasound Technology From An Accredited Institution.
Ardms Certification: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Obtained The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Certification, Which Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field Of Ultrasound Technology.
Experience With Various Ultrasound Equipment And Procedures: Atrium Health Seeks Candidates With Experience In Performing A Variety Of Ultrasound Procedures Such As Abdominal, Ob/Gyn, Musculoskeletal, And Vascular Ultrasound Using Different Types Of Equipment.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Ultrasound Technologists At Atrium Health Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Also Be Able To Explain Procedures And Results To Patients In A Clear And Compassionate Manner.
