- Ensure patient comfort and safety during transportation by properly securing them in wheelchairs, stretchers, or other equipment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members during transportation.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for patient transport to maintain a high level of efficiency and quality of care.
- Monitor equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
- Maintain accurate records of patient transportation, including time, destination, and any accompanying staff members.
- Prioritize tasks and adapt to changing situations to meet the needs of patients and the hospital.
- Comply with all safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Valid Driver's License: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Transporter-Days Job At Atrium Health Is A Valid Driver's License. As A Transporter, You Will Be Responsible For Safely Transporting Patients, Equipment, And Supplies Throughout The Hospital, So A Valid Driver's License Is Necessary For This Role.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For A Transporter-Days Position At Atrium Health. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Reading And Writing Skills To Perform The Job Duties.
