Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting our surgeons and ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our surgical procedures. We are looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others.   1. Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.
  2. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies, sponging, and providing other necessary support.
  3. Monitor and maintain a sterile field during surgery to minimize the risk of infection.
  4. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide prompt and efficient assistance.
  5. Handle specimens and samples with care and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
  6. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures, equipment used, and supplies used.
  9. Assist with patient positioning and draping to ensure comfort and proper exposure for the surgical site.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care and achieve positive outcomes.
  11. Continuously update knowledge and skills by attending training and educational programs related to surgical technology.
  12. Provide emotional support to patients and their families before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  13. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations, to maintain patient confidentiality.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for process improvement.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times and represent Atrium Health with integrity and compassion.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential From An Accredited Program

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Surgical Setting

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Procedures

  • Ability To Anticipate Surgeon's Needs And Assist During Surgical Procedures
