Job Description

Are you an experienced transportation leader who is passionate about providing excellent service and quality patient care? Atrium Health is looking for a Supervisor - Patient Transport Operations to join our team and lead a team of Patient Transport Associates.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe and timely transport of patients, specimens and other items throughout the Atrium Health system. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure and a commitment to providing the highest level of patient care.The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role in the transportation, healthcare or customer service industries. A valid driver’s license and knowledge of transportation services and safety regulations are required. Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Patient Transport Associates to ensure efficient, safe, and timely transport of patients, specimens, and other items.
  2. Monitor and manage the performance and productivity of the team.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to improve quality and safety of patient transport services.
  4. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
  5. Monitor and manage transportation budgets, resources, and personnel.
  6. Maintain excellent communication with all stakeholders, including patients, medical staff, and other departments.
  7. Handle customer service inquiries and complaints.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors.
  9. Track and report performance metrics.
  10. Create and update operational documents such as policies, procedures, and protocols.
  11. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  12. Conduct staff training and onboarding.
