Job Description

Are you passionate about helping athletes perform at their best and providing immediate medical care on the field? Atrium Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sports Medicine School Based EMT to join our team. As an EMT in our Sports Medicine program, you will have the opportunity to work with student athletes at various schools, providing emergency medical care and injury evaluation. We are looking for individuals who are knowledgeable, compassionate, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. If you have a background in sports medicine and are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of student athletes, we encourage you to apply.

  1. Provide immediate medical care on the field for student athletes during games, practices, and other sporting events.
  2. Evaluate and assess injuries and provide appropriate treatment and referrals.
  3. Administer emergency medical procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each athlete.
  5. Communicate effectively with coaches, athletic trainers, and other medical staff to ensure coordinated care for athletes.
  6. Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on injury prevention and proper medical protocols.
  7. Maintain and restock medical supplies and equipment.
  8. Adhere to all safety and medical guidelines and protocols.
  9. Collaborate with other medical professionals to develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention and treatment plans.
  10. Remain up-to-date on the latest developments and research in sports medicine.
  11. Provide emotional support and compassion to injured athletes and their families.
  12. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  13. Be available for on-call or emergency situations.
  14. Travel to various schools and sporting events as needed.
  15. Represent Atrium Health and the Sports Medicine program in a positive and professional manner.
  16. Act as a role model for student athletes by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Emt Certification: Atrium Health Requires All Candidates For Their Sports Medicine School Based Emt Job To Possess A Valid Emt Certification From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Emergency Medical Care In A High-Stress Environment.

  • Sports Medicine Training: Atrium Health Values Candidates Who Have Received Specialized Training In Sports Medicine. This Could Include Coursework In Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Or Other Related Fields. Having A Background In Sports Medicine Is Crucial For Understanding The Specific Needs Of Athletes And Providing Appropriate Medical Care.

  • Experience In A School Setting: Atrium Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Prior Experience Working In A School Setting. This Could Include Working As An Athletic Trainer, School Nurse, Or Emt For A School District.
